Many in the path of Hurricane Helene 2024 have had to deal with impassable roads and prolonged time without power. As locals on the ground are coming together and organizing community efforts to distribute water, food, backup power, information, and vital necessities–especially to those less mobile and with heightened needs–Give InKind stands poised to help channel the generosity and good intentions of those further away in the most efficient ways possible.
Families, individuals, and organizations are using Give InKind to centralize the efforts of teammates and loved ones near and far. Supporters can instantly send digital gift cards, direct funds through Venmo, CashApp, PayPal, and even GoFundMe. They can schedule times to provide meals, groceries, transportation, petcare, childcare… Literally anything that can be asked for can be provided by volunteering through the Care Calendar.
The onboard Wishlist instantly connects people with gift cards to stores and services that provide much needed help and relief. Page Organizers can also attach an Amazon Wishlist to every InKind Page for supporters to send necessities directly from.
Friends and loved ones stay updated along the way with Personal Updates posted at the top of every InKind Page. These also go out via email to all page followers to keep everyone in the loop. Join the discussion with comments inside Personal Updates, and the optional Messages area at the bottom of each InKind Page. You can also use the Messages area to share words of encouragement and images for all page visitors to see.
Much like we did in 2020, Give InKind can also be used to facilitate meals and supplies gathered and distributed to frontline workers.
We also offer Group pages to centralize the support efforts of an entire organization. Churches, Companies, Schools, Hospitals, are all welcome. Groups of all kinds can collect members’ pages into a single reference point for personalized, meaningful support for all.
Use Give InKind’s extensive resources to learn how to create an InKind Page for someone facing devastation from natural disaster, what gift cards could be the best help for someone in this situation, how to help through the recovery process, emergency preparedness, and more in our blog.
